History-Urbanism Hub
A Landscape that Integrates the
Past and City Fragments
The Site is located in the outer section of Downtown Nanjing surrounded by five distinct public buildings. However, due to improper planning, the site is fragmented by roads and fences.Thousands of tourists come here by subway every day, but the improper direction of the exits makes it impossible for tourists to easily enter the square and find the buildings scattered around it
In addition, Nanjing is a city with a long history, and under this city there are numerous historical sites waiting to be uncovered, during the construction of these public buildings, people accidentally discovered the underground historical relics, but most of these relics are still buried in the ground.
Given these complex conditions, I wonder if a hub of transportation connections can serve as a medium for these complex conditions. At the same time of sorting out the unreasonable and complex traffic flow lines, it brings people to the buried historical relics and implies the location of historical buildings, so as to arouse people's historical memory of this site.
